Celestia

This painting was a birthday gift to my sister, an avid cosplayer, depicting her in one of her favorite costumes. I initially had intended to complete the entire thing on paper, using ink and watercolor, but quickly decided to switch over to a digital format to practice my painting and FX skills.

The (almost) final result! All that's left to do now is finish shading the hair and the shirt.

Most of my digital paintings start out in black and white, with digital overlays later added on top. Here you can see an initial lighting test I did on Rachel's skin before deciding on the colors for the full picture.

The initial sketch I did with pen and paper, and later uploaded to my computer to use as lineart.
